Dutch Oven Pot Roast
 


Dutch oven pot roast will be sure to rally your hungry group. Dutch oven pot roast is a family comfort food. It will warm your soul.

With the right ingredients it’s easy to make a tasty Dutch oven pot roast. Begin with a two to three pound rump roast. Trim excess fat. Season the roast with salt and pepper. Place roast in Dutch oven. Add five cups of your favorite vegetables. We like quartered red potatoes, baby carrots, celery sticks, onions slices, and maybe a bit of pressed garlic. Arrange vegetables around roast. Pour one or two cups of beef bouillon (broth) over roast. Or you can use a pot roast seasoning packet. Cover with the Dutch oven lid. If heat is high cook your Dutch oven pot roast for 4-6 hours. If you are using a lower heat cook the roast for 6-8 hours.
